X Factor and Extra Fashion

The contestant who has divided the public the most with her unusual vocals and clothing is Diana Vickers. Each week the stylists have picked out cute and very different outfits for her and the mix of high-street and designer has made her style very popular. In Best of British week she wore a dusky pink prom-dress from Topshop, retailing at £60 whilst in USA week she went more designer in a Phillip Lim frock coming in at £210. Frequently bare-foot, this is not something that would be practical for your office Christmas party but you could always team your little boho dress with neutral flat pumps if you're tall like Diana. She is usually accessorised by Freedom (Topshop) who stock a wide-range of well-priced bangles, necklaces, rings and hair clips.

As sleek and sophisticated as Diana is quirky, soul-diva Alexandra Burke has had the most varied outfits on the show. In week 2 she wore exclusive Italian designer Pia Michi for effortless glamour. As the series moved on her style became more daring and in USA week she wore a Suzanne Neville sequinned corset which retails at around £350 and teamed it with the high-fashion must have of the moment, latex leggings. Alexandra's were from Topshop at £18.

For old style Hollywood glamour with a rock edge Ruth Lorenzo's style is unbeatable. With her 1950s starlet hair and curvacious body she really suits the structured strapless gowns she wears. Like Alexandra, her corsetted style is often provided by Suzanne Neville, who makes corsets, ball gowns and wedding dresses. In week 2, however, Ruth was seen dressing down in a Topshop loose-fit t-shirt and black skinny jeans.

Young finalist Eoghan Quigg is dressed in a lot of fun fashions, mixing formal waistcoats with more casual sportswear. In USA week Eoghan was dressed head-to-toe in Topman's waistcoat, trousers and shirt combo, then for his second song was wearing American Apparel's sportier style.

If the press are to be believed, there is a feud between judges Dannii and Cheryl. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but they certainly battle in the style-stakes week after week. Cheryl's style has been a mixture of sleek and cute as the series has developed. A fan of the latex leggings seen on contestants Alexandra and early-evictees Bad Lashes, Cheryl makes ghetto glamorous. Alternatively, she has been seen in prom dresses and high-waisted jeans and skirts for retro style. Dannii's style isn't vastly different to Cheryl's but she often has fun with fashion. An example of this is in Take That week when she wore a tight pencil dress in shimmery leopard print. Dannii is also never seen without her skyscraper heels which give Posh Spice a run for her money.
